Raku Lamp
This lamp base was made using the ancient technique of Raku, where the glaze firing is a rapid process, being brought to target temperature very quickly, the cooled rapidly, causing the glaze to crack. To emphasize this, pieces are placed in a small closed container with combustible materials, resulting in smoke penetrating the cracks in the glaze, making them clearly visible.
